Alan has been working in the real estate industry in Victoria since 2014 both as a licenced agent and as a coach and Trainer and Assessor in small business and real estate education.
He is the Principal of Maguires Real Estate and lives in Mornington, Victoria where the office is also located. Alan has a rich and varied professional background. He started his working life as a secondary French and History teacher and during his career he has taught English language and management programs at VET level in France, South Korea, New Caledonia and French Polynesia and managed technical education projects in Saudi Arabia, East Timor and throughout South-East Asia and China. Alan is a fluent and accredited French and Spanish speaker and translator.
Alan’s agency specialises in sales of businesses, including Bed and Breakfast accommodation, retail, automotive, hairdressing, food and hospitality as well as commercial buildings.
Alan’s approach to real estate is based on traditional customer service values of catering to customers’ needs, being available both to buyers and sellers and communicating regularly with vendors.
Alan and his wife, Winnie, are well-known in the Dandenong Ranges and Mornington Peninsula communities as owners of several Bed and Breakfast and pearl jewellery shop businesses. Alan’s experience in small business and accommodation makes him the ideal person to appraise the value of all types of businesses and to work out the best method to market them. He is particularly qualified to advise B&B vendors how to get the most return for their hard work and buyers on how to manage a B&B.
Alan’s loves include the beaches, wineries and shops of the Mornington Peninsula, his toy poodle Teddy and wife and three adult children (not necessarily in that order). In his spare time, he enjoys watching and playing tennis, table tennis and supporting the St. Kilda Football Club.
